Police in Canada are cracking down on smugglers, who are trying to evade taxes on alcohol by importing it.<br /><br />From the nearby Islands of St-Pierre-Miquelon, North America's only French territory smugglers bring the drink illegally to a number of ports and beaches in nearby Nova Scotia and Newfoundland. <br /><br />The islands have profited since the days of prohibition. <br /><br />Al Jazeera's John Terrett reports from off the Newfoundland coast.
