Protesters in Bahrain have clashed with police after a funeral procession through the capital for Ali Hasan al-Dehi, the 78-year-old father of a Shia opposition leader, Hussein al-Dehi.<br /><br />Security forces used tear gas and armoured vehicles to drive back hundreds of protesters who were marching towards Pearl Square in Bahrain's capital Manama, on Friday. <br /><br />According to the Bahrain Centre for Human Rights, Ali Hasan al-Dehi was beaten to death by riot police on Wednesday while returning to his home in the village of Dehi. <br /><br />Al Jazeera's Charles Stratford reports from Doha.
