It has been a year since Ireland called for international support to bail out its banks.<br /><br />Since then, statistics appear to show the economy has stabilised, but the economic situation for people on the ground is very different.<br /><br />There are more than 2,000 abandoned developments, known as ghost estates, as the country's housing boom was found to be built on sand.<br /><br />Al Jazeera's Laurence Lee reports from central Ireland.
