Abu Abdo Al Homsy, a resident of Homs, tells Al Jazeera that military troops have entered the besieged district of Bab Amr and begun searching houses. <br /><br />Armed rebels who had occupied the neighbourhood for weeks withdrew on Thursday after nearly a month of bombardment and as the government's forces prepared for a ground assault.<br /><br />Homsy said residents are now waiting for a planned visit from the Syrian Red Crescent aid society, but the bombardment continues.
