Bangladesh is doing everything it can to impress Hillary Clinton, the US Secretary of State, who is in the country on a 24-hour visit.<br /><br />For weeks, the country's opposition - angered by the disappearance of one of its most outspoken leaders - has staged general strikes against the authorities.<br /><br />But for the duration of Clinton's visit, the opposition called a truce with the government. <br /><br />For once, both parties agree on the importance of making a good impression - a move due at least in part to the fact that the US is Bangladesh's largest financial donor.<br /><br />Al Jazeera's Nicolas Haque reports from Dhaka.
