The US government says the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) has foiled a plot by an al-Qaeda-linked group in Yemen to bomb an aeroplane going to America.<br /><br />The suspected attack was apparently scheduled to take place around the one-year anniversary of Osama bin Laden's death.<br /><br />It allegedly involved a more sophisticated version of the underwear bomb which failed to detonate over Detroit in 2009.<br /><br />Al Jazeera's John Terrett has the latest from Washington, DC.
