When leaders of the eight largest global economies meet in the US on Friday, the issue of food aid to developing nations will be high on the agenda.<br /><br />Three years ago the world's largest economies promised $22bn towards food security in developing nations. However, by last year less than a quarter of the promised amount made its way to nations facing starvation.<br /><br />This year, activists are all calling for the G8 leaders to make a real financial commitment in order to keep 50 million children globally from a state of malnutrition.<br /><br />Al Jazeera's Patty Culhane reports from Washington, DC.
