International envoy Kofi Annan has said he agreed with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad on an "approach" to end Syria's conflict that would be put to the rebels.<br /><br />Annan said talks with Assad in the Damascus on Monday were "constructive and candid", echoing Syrian foreign ministry spokesman Jihad Makdissi who described the meeting as "constructive and good".<br /><br />Rosiland Jordan reports.
