A Mexican drug cartel named after a medieval order of knights is winning favour among the community where it works, in the state of Michoacan.<br /><br />The Knights of Templar say they are fighting a war against injustice and poverty, and they have a reputation much stronger than local police.<br /><br />Meanwhile, they traffic drugs and create harsh and violent punishments for those the organisation deems to be bad for the community.<br /><br />Al Jazeera's Monica Villamizar reports from the city of Apatzingan in Mexico's Michoacan province.<br /><br />This video contains graphic images which some users may find disturbing.
