For the cattle-herders of Uganda's Karamoja region, a new system is keeping home fires burning and saves women from attacks by rival clans.<br /><br />It is pilot UNICEF scheme to produce biogas for cooking stoves. It is hoped that the technology can be scaled up across the region as a source of fuel that could help reduce the strain on the environment.<br /><br />Malcolm Webb reports from northern Uganda.
