Fighters loyal to the National Transitional Council have reached the Mediterranean coast near Sirte, cutting off the last land escape route for forces still fighting for ousted leader Muammar Gaddafi.<br /><br />The loyalists have been pushed back to a pocket of the city known as Neighbourhood Two, where they are surrounded. But the intense fighting continues, and casualties mount.<br /><br />Al Jazeera's Tony Birtley reports from Sirte.
