Thousands of children across Pakistan are being given a special board game to teach them how to cope with natural disasters.

Since 2005, Pakistan has suffered a major earthquake and two consecutive years of devastating flooding.

The game is designed and distributed by the UN's habitat agency. It follows the success of a similar board game project in other countries prone to natural disasters.

About 30,000 of the games are being distributed to children across Pakistan.

It is hoped that by playing the game, children will grow up to be adults who can protect themselves and their communities from any future disasters.

Al Jazeera's Imtiaz Tyab reports from Charsadda, in the northwest of Pakistan.
