EDIT CONTAINS 4:3 MATERIAL<br/> <br />Chile's navy on Thursday (July 26) sank a Peruvian boat found to be transporting marijuana near the Chilean-Peruvian border.<br/> <br />Chilean Captain Juan Carlos Ponz, the maritime Governor of Arica Province, said that the boat was found to be carrying 38 packets of pressed marijuana.<br/> <br />Chilean authorities later said that the total haul of marijuana was 38.4 kilos (84.6 pounds).<br/> <br />The incident took place near Victor Cove, about 70 kilometres (43 miles) south of the capital of Santiago.<br/> <br />Officials say one of the two people on board the Peruvian vessel suffered bullet wounds.<br/> <br />Both two men were detained and will appear before a Chilean judge in the city of Iquique in the next 48 hours, officials say.
