Al Jazeera has confirmed that two of Myanmar's rebel armies have joined forces, ahead of a feared crackdown by the military government.<br /><br />The move comes after thousands of civilians fled into Thailand earlier this week, after renewed fighting near the border with Thailand.<br /><br />Al Jazeera's Aela Callan reports.
