With just three days to go before a deadline to come up with a deal to stave off a massive debt default, US politicians have failed once again to agree a way forward.<br /><br />A few hours ago, the Republican-controlled House of Representatives rejected a Democratic plan to expand the debt ceiling.<br /><br />As Al Jazeera's Patty Culhane reports from Capitol Hill, it has been a day of heated words.
