The Syrian government has pushed ahead with municipal elections, as part of what it said are promised political reforms.<br /><br />Opposition groups, however, boycotted the polls, and many activists no longer believe there is any room for negotiation with the authorities following President Bashar al-Assad's brutal crackdown on protests.<br /><br />Al Jazeera's Zeina Khodr reports from the province of Hatay in southern Turkey, where she met opposition figures.
