A short video made from footage of the Poverty Torch Relay through Hackney on Friday 27 July 2012. The narrative is provided by Simon Shaw, a local activist, who appears later on in the video (in his cycling gear).<br /><br />The purpose of the relay was to raise awareness abou the negative impacts of the Olympic Games, and other mega-events, on the host city, and the creation of injustices. The relay itself ran from Clissold Park to Leyton Marsh in Hackney with the additional aim of promoting a demonstration which took place the following day (a Whose Olympics? video of which will follow soon).
