Parts of Manila sit submerged, as flood water forces residents to leave their homes in search of shelter.<br/> <br />Eleven days of monsoon rains, fuelled by a typhoon and tropical storm, have swamped 60 percent of the Philippine capital.<br/> <br />Homes are inundated and major roads turned to rivers.<br/> <br />The death toll has risen to at least 64.<br/> <br />Food, water and clothes are being distributed to the 850,000 people marooned inside flooded homes, or at temporary shelters.<br/> <br />Indoor basketball courts and schools are packed with people seeking refuge.<br/> <br />Forecasters say the monsoon rains have been the heaviest in three years.<br/> <br />The severe weather is expected to ease from Thursday (August 9).
