They have stepped up attacks in the desert frontier following the uprising that toppled Egypt's government last year.<br/> <br />As the dead have been put to rest, Egypt's new government has tried to assure Israel that it will keep Sinai under control.<br/> <br />Sunday's attack was the bloodiest since 1979 when Egypt signed a peace treaty with Israel, an accord which brought an end to a succession of wars between the two countries.
