Investigators scour the site of a deadly blast that hit a Turkish military bus on Thursday.<br/> <br />At least one soldier was killed in the explosion, and more than 10 were wounded.<br/> <br />Kurdish militants are suspected of carrying out the attack on the bus as it headed toward a naval base in the west of the country.<br/> <br />A Turkish news agency reported that Kurdistan Workers Party, or PKK rebels detonated explosives on the road, before opening fire on the bus at around 8 am local time.<br/> <br />It said the soldiers returned fire.<br/> <br />Attacks on military vehicles are common in southeastern Turkey, where the PKK have fought a 28-year separatist insurgency, but are rare in western Turkey.<br/> <br />More than 40,000 people have been killed in the conflict since it began in 1984.
