ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION)<br/> <br />STORY: Qatar's ruling emir Sheik Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani discussed developments in Syria with Jordanian King Abdullah II, the Qatar news agency said on Friday.<br/> <br />King Abdullah was on a visit to Doha, from where he will head to Mecca for an Islamic summit called by Saudi King Abdullah.<br/> <br />Jordanian news agency Petra said Sheik Hamad and King Abdullah agreed on the need for a political solution to the violence in Syria, as Syrian President Bashar al-Assad fights a 17-month-uprising against his rule.<br/> <br />The two leaders also voiced concerns over the regional consequences of the Syrian conflict and expressed a desire for "joint Arab action" on the issue, Petra said.<br/> <br />Syria's neighbors, including Jordan, are bracing for a potential flood of people trying to get away from the fighting.
