ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION)<br/> <br />STORY: Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Dania Ramirez sped through city streets as bicycle messengers in their new film "Premium Rush."<br/> <br />The actors dodged New York City taxicabs, speeding cars, policemen and irate pedestrians while running from a shady detective, played by Michael Shannon.<br/> <br />The other main attraction of the film was the "fixie," or fixed-gear bicycle, a lightweight single-gear bike with no brakes, ridden by Gordon-Levitt.<br/> <br />"You put your feet into these cages and whether you move your feet back or forward you're connected, whereas a bike that coasts, it feels more like a vehicle that you're riding on top of," said the 31-year-old actor. "But these fixed-gear bikes, it just feels like there's wheels attached to your legs," he added.<br/> <br />"Premium Rush" freewheels into theaters on August 24.
