Taliban gunmen have launched a wave of attacks in the Afghan city of Kandahar.<br /><br />At least eight people have been killed - including six gunmen. <br /><br />The main target was the Kandahar governor's compound. <br /><br />Gunmen also launched an attack from the traffic police department, apparently targeting the Afghan Intelligence Service, which is based nearby.<br /><br />In the northwest of the city, a gunbattle raged in a school.<br /><br />The fighting here was aimed at the District Police Headquarters.<br /><br />And a police compound near the Serposa area was also attacked. <br /><br />Al Jazeera's James Bays has more from Kabul.
