Stigma undermines China's HIV/AIDS fight

It has been 30 years since the first case of HIV was diagnosed. Despite a leap in progress in the treatment of the virus that causes AIDS, the disease continues to be a major struggle for more than 30 million people across the world. <br /><br />In China, an estimated 750,000 people have the virus and analysts say the numbers will continue to rise because an HIV/AIDS social stigma is undermining the fight against the disease.<br /><br />Al Jazeera's Andrew Thomas reports from the central Chinese city of Ningling, where HIV carriers are reportedly harassed by fellow residents.
