In it's 68th year, Venice boasts the oldest film festival in the world.<br /><br />Yet, there are fears that the Venice Film Festival is sinking, as other film festivals are deemed to be glitzier, more spectacular, more 'Hollywood'.<br /><br />For Marco Mueller, the director of the Venice Festival for the last eight years, this year is going to outshine all of the others.<br /><br />"Some of the biggest stars here this year have stepped behind the camera."<br /><br />65 films are in the official categories this year, including films directed by George Clooney, and Madonna.<br /><br />Al Jazeera's Rory Challands reports from Venice.
