Interview: Tuvalu down to last few days of water

Richard Marles is Australia's Parliamentary Secretary for Pacific Island Affairs told al Jazeera:"<br /><br />"I spoke to the PM of Tuvalu earlier in the week and said that we will be there, stand by Tuvalu and provide any assistance they may need.<br /><br />"At the moment that consists of ensuring that we have Deslaination plants that are transported to Tuvalu that could meet the immediate needs of the island.<br /><br />"On Monday we will be using royal Australian airforce that will help transport quiet a large portable Deslaination units via Smoa to Tuvalu and that ought to deal with the immediate short term needs that they need.<br /><br />"In the long term plans we are trying to put water tank along the island that could be used when it is raining, but right now Tuvalu is experincing its worst drought
