Republicans have agreed to extend a payroll tax cut they held up in congress. <br /><br />That means some 160 million Americans will keep a tax break of about $1000 per family. <br /><br />The move also extends unemployment insurance. <br /><br />Economic indicators released on Thursday show some improvement in the US economy. <br /><br />But for job seekers, and for the American economy, things are yet to improve. <br /><br />Al Jazeera's John Hendren reports.
