The former president of the Maldives says he will organise more street protests unless new elections are held.<br /><br />Mohamed Nasheed was removed from office on Tuesday in what he and his supporters are calling a coup.<br /><br />But in an interview with Al Jazeera, the new president has rejected the idea of early elections. Has also warned Nasheed against stoking up unrest. <br /><br />Al Jazeera's Steve Chao reports from the capital Male.
