In Los Alamos, northern New Mexico, a wildfire burns in the hills surrounding the nuclear laboratory where the atomic bomb was first developed.<br /><br />The blaze, which has already burned more than 20 thousand hectares, continues to spread as it sends up plumes of smoke and rains down ash.<br /><br />Officials say that radioactive material stored on the lab property is safe.<br /><br />Al Jazeera's Imran Garda reports from Los Alamos.
