Libyan rebel fighters are closing in on Muammar Gaddafi's hometown of Sirte.<br /><br />The city -- Gaddafi's birthplace and one of the last still held by his men -- is now the main target for the fighters allied to the National Transitional Council.<br /><br />Meanwhile, in Tripoli, signs of normal life are returning. Citizens are venturing out of their homes and some shops are opening.<br /><br />But there have also been reports of mass abuses against civilians taking place.<br /><br />And the whereabouts of the Libyan leader are still unknown.<br /><br />Al Jazeera's James Bays reports from Tripoli.
