Many Hispanic students have started to leave schools in the US state of Alabama after a court ruling that upheld the state's tough new immigration laws.<br /><br />The laws require new pupils to provide birth certificates when registering. However, many students who were born in the US remain undocumented.<br /><br />Now, some Hispanic families have started leaving the state, despite assurances that children will not be denied an education.<br /><br />Al Jazeera's Andy Gallacher reports from the city of Birmingham in Alabama.
