After a very public three-year-long saga, Europe's richest woman must cede control of her $20bn fortune to her daughter and two grandsons.<br /><br />Liliane Bettencourt, heiress to the L'Oreal cosmetics fortune, has been deemed unfit to manage her own assets as a result of an ongoing struggle with dementia and Alhemizer's disease.<br /><br />Bettencourt's lawyers have vowed to appeal the ruling and Bettencourt herself has threatened to flee France in an effort to escape the guardianship.<br /><br />Al Jazeera's Estelle Youssouffa reports from Paris.
