In response to a recent Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) attack that killed 26 Turkish soldiers, Turkish military forces by attacking PKK targets in south east Turkey and Kurdish areas of northern Iraq.<br /><br />The PKK attacks come after months of sustained aggression from the government of prime minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan targeting PKK bases in south east Turkey.<br /><br />Responding to the largest loss of Turkish military life in 20 years, Erdogan today called the PKK sub-contractors to other nations weary of Turkey's gains in the region.<br /><br />Al Jazeera's Anita McNaught reports from Istanbul.
