Almost 4,000 Sri Lankans are returning to their country after years in refugee camps in southern India. <br /><br />Hundreds of thousands of people were displaced during the conflict between the government and the separatist Tamil Tigers during the country's 25-year civil war.<br /><br />Now, through a voluntary repatriation programme run by the UN refugee agency, UNHCR, some of the previously displaced are returning to Sri Lanka in the hope of a better life. <br /><br />A report commissioned by the government to investigate possible human rights abuses committed during the war will also be handed to Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa on Sunday.<br /><br />Al Jazeera's Minelle Fernandez reports from Mannar.
