Government-backed efforts to resolve a long-running land dispute between poor farmers and wealthy landowners in Honduras have run into trouble. <br /><br />A deal, which would allow farmers to buy thousands of hectares of land - with government loans - from the owners, has been severely criticised by the farmers who say the interest rates are way too high. <br /><br />They say that if they are unable to make the payments, the land might fall back into the hand of the companies. <br /><br />Many farmers continue to blame government security forces and police for attacking them on behalf of wealthy landowners.<br /><br />Adam Raney reports from Bajo Aguan region in northern Honduras.
