Baton-wielding soldiers have cleared Egypt's Tahrir Square of protesters.<br /><br />Troops went into central Cairo, close to parliament and cabinet offices, beating demonstrators and burning their tents. <br /><br />Earlier, the military-appointed prime minister Kamal El-Ganzouri branded the protesters counter-revolutionaries.<br /><br />Al Jazeera's Sherine Tadros reports from Cairo.
