Activists say Hama has become like a battlefield after Syrian army tanks entered and attacked several areas of the city.<br /><br />The protesters say many pro-democracy demonstrators were arrested and killed during Friday's assault. <br /><br />However, Syrian state TV has broadcast pictures of what it says was a successful operation to stop a rebellion, after armed gangs terrorised the city.<br /><br />Al Jazeera's Omar Al Saleh reports.
