After the storm - the clearup.<br/> <br />As soldiers help clear away mud, broken trees and floodwater in Taiwan, residents are still trying to get to grips with the devastation wreaked by Typhoon Tembin, which tore across the island on Friday.<br/> <br />Pounding rain - the largest quantity seen in the area since 1943 - brought severe flooding to the island's far south, toppling houses, uprooting trees and wrecking many homes.<br/> <br />This elderly resident is reduced to tears as he surveys the damage in his home.<br/> <br />Others accuse the government of not doing enough.<br/> <br />(SOUNDBITE) (Mandarin) UNNAMED FEMALE RESIDENT SAYING:<br/> <br />"The government officials need to find a solution. They always come and just take pictures of the disaster. It's useless."<br/> <br />Over 7,000 people were evacuated across the island - with some pets like this cat also rescued - while around 30,000 houses lost power.<br/> <br />The Central Weather Bureau downgraded Tembin to a tropical storm after it passed over land but warned that heavy rain will continue.
