Two men have been sentenced to death in Belarus for carrying out a series of attacks including the bombing of the country's metro system in April. <br /><br />Twelve people were killed and hundreds were injured in Minsk in what was one of the deadliest attacks in the country since the Second World War.<br /><br />Prosecutors claim the men carried out the attack because they disagreed with the leadership of the nation's autocratic president, Alexander Lukashenko.<br /><br />But human rights activists say the trial is a farce, based on weak evidence and forced confessions, which they say is an attempt to discredit the country's political opposition.<br /><br />Al Jazeera's Neave Barker reports from Moscow.
