Iran has threatened to cut off oil shipments through the Strait of Hormuz if the West follows through with a plan to sanction Iran's vital oil exports. <br /><br />The US Navy's Gulf-based Fifth Fleet responded by saying it will not tolerate any such disruption. <br /><br />Around 40 per cent of the world's oil transported by sea passes through the strait. <br /><br />Will Jordan reports.
