The Red Cross is negotiating with the Syrian authorities and opposition fighters a ceasefire in the country so it can deliver vital aid.<br /><br />The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has requested a daily two-hour truce to deliver medical supplies to Syrians who need help.<br /><br />Meanwhile, the situation in Damascus is escalating. Activists say security forces have opened fire overnight on demonstrators, injuring at least four people. <br /><br />Al Jazeera's Khadija Magardie reports.
