Four people are killed and dozens wounded after insurgents targeted the police chief in Afghanistan's Kandahar Province.<br/> <br />The police chief suffered minor injuries.<br/> <br />The previous chief was killed in April 2011 when a suicide bomber wearing a police uniform slipped past security.<br/> <br />A witness describes the latest attack<br/> <br />(SOUNDBITE) (PASHTO) ABDUL NAFEH, EYEWITNESS SAYING:<br/> <br />"The explosion was very big. Twenty four of our neighbors were wounded. When I walked out from my house I saw bodies and several wounded at the scene."<br/> <br />The attack comes barely a day after insurgents beheaded 17 party-goers in neighboring Helmand province, highlighting security problems in the region ahead of a 2014 withdrawal of most NATO combat troops.
