Farm scheme in South Africa raises concerns

In a bid to reverse the apartheid legacy of land ownership, the government of South Africa has embarked upon a scheme to buy white-owned farm lands and re-distribute them to black and mixed race people.<br /><br />But with some farms failing from lack of experience by the new owners, the costly practice is starting to come under increasing scrutiny.<br /><br />One mentoring scheme pairing experienced white farmers with new black and mixed race land owners in the Western Cape aims to reverse the fortunes of these farms.<br /><br />Al Jazeera's Tania Page reports from Overburg.
