The US president has more impact on foreign policy than any other asepct of the US government, but Mitt Romney and the Republicans have so far not made it a priority of their campaign.<br /><br />Though historically foreign policy and defence issues have been staples of the Republican party, the 2012 Republican National Convention has instead, largely focused on the economy.<br /><br />Al Jazeera's Alan Fisher reports from Tampa.
