Election officials in Egypt have barred some of the leading candidates from running for president. <br /><br />The list includes several high profile names, such as Khairat al-Shater, the Muslim Brotherhood's candidate, and Omar Suleiman, Hosni Mubarak's former vice-president and intelligence chief.<br /><br />Hazem Abu Ismail, the candidate representing the ultra-conservative Salafi al-Nur party, has also been barred, as has Ayman Nour, a prominent opposition leader.<br /><br />Al Jazeera's Sherine Tadros reports from Cairo.
