Identified by local media as 36-year-old Alejandro Gonzalez Huaman, activists claimed the police pushed him off a bridge into the Mantar River. The public prosecutor has launched an investigation into the death.<br/> <br />Local officials reported at least 43 people, including three police officers, were injured and 20 people were detained.<br/> <br />Protesters carried a mock-coffin bearing the name of regional president Vladimir Cerron to show their anger.
