The US supreme court has struck down parts of a controversial immigration law brought in by the state of <br />Arizona two years ago.<br /><br />The judges have ruled that only the federal government can decide who can be deported.<br /><br />But they said Arizona police can still stop and check the immigration status of anyone they believe is in the country illegally.<br /><br />Al Jazeera's Patty Culhane reports from Washington DC.
