After suffering a harsh winter, the Balkans region in southeast Europe is facing one of its worst droughts in four decades.<br /><br />As crops wilt and die, the cost looks set to run into hundreds of millions of dollars.<br /><br />Hot, dry weather in eastern and southern Europe has piled pressure on world grain markets already reeling from huge drought damage in the United States.<br /><br />Al Jazeera's Peter Sharp reports.
