So far in 2012, 317 members of the International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan have been killed in the Central Asian nation. The majority of those, 246, were from roadside bombs.<br /><br />The so-called "green-on-blue" insider attacks accounted for 39 deaths over 34 incidents so far in 2012.<br /><br />Of those 34 incidents of insider attacks by "friendly" Afghan forces, 12 have occurred in the month of August.
