George Michael Resumes Symphonica Tour In Vienna

Pop star George Michael made a triumphant return to the stage on Tuesday night, after fighting for his life ten months earlier.<br /><br />The former Wham! frontman had been in the middle of a European tour when he was diagnosed with severe pneumonia, forcing him to cancel a string of dates.<br /><br />Michael fell ill in Vienna, and spent a month in the city's General Hospital under intensive care.<br /><br />Therefore it was only fitting that pop star resumed his tour in the Austrian capital.<br /><br />And to thank all those who cared for him, Michael donated 1,000 tickets to the hospital.<br /><br />300 hospital staff attended the show, with the other 700 tickets being sold to raise money for lung disease research.<br /><br />Fans are just pleased to see the singer well and back on stage.<br /><br />[Ken, George Michael Fan from Hellensburgh, Scotland]:<br />"I think his voice is better than ever and and tonight's performance will be something really special because I think George feels he owes his life to the people in Austria and this is his way of repaying them.
